Second Fiddle

Our dog Xander is 2 years old. He is a bit spoiled, especially by his daddy. They rough-house all of the time. Pretty soon, we imagine that he will be a second class citizen in this home, so my DH has started to call him "second fiddle." I went to a BRU seminar a few weeks ago & learned some tricks to ease him into the whole idea. They recommend carrying around and "diapering" a doll & downloading babies wailing from the internet to get the dog used to the sound. I'm not sure I will go this far. I might just wing it.
