Hemi Powered

This evening, Jon, Corbin & I went out to eat at the Oliv.e Garden. We had a bit of a wait, so we decided to stay in our car for a bit. Jon brought him up in the front seat & Corbin started to play around with the steering wheel. It was pure coincidence that he happened to be wearing his Chrys.ler/J.eep onesie. These were taken on a cell phone, so the quality isn't the best, but you get the idea!

Memorial Day Weekend

Corbin had an exciting weekend meeting new relatives. We first went up to Toledo for Grandma Kay's birthday dinner. Then we went to Detroit for the Haute Dog Festival. Corbin met my cousin's son, Wyatt, who is a month older than him. They were very interested in each other. Lastly, we went over to the lake, where we continued to celebrate Grandma Kay's 85th. Corbin got to meet more Jon's cousin Rob's children there. Here are some photos.

Happy Half Birthday!

I can't believe Corbin is half a year old already!! Today we bought him a new infant seat that has a tray attachment on it. We gave him some purees and let him "go at it"! Here are a couple of pics!

Racing for the Cure

This morning, Jon, Corbin & I raced for the cure. Here are a couple of photos. I wish we would have gotten better quality & closer shots, but we just didn't. We just made it to the race in time, so we were rushing to get a couple of photos in. We raced in celebration of my mom.

Dada!

Well, just before mommy left to go work a shift (it wasn't horrible, but I missed him!), Corbin decided he would start to say "Da-Da!" and he gives us a pretty good shot of those teeth popping up in there, too! Teeth pics are very hard to get because he always covers them with his tongue when we open his mouth for him, so this is your best shot!

WTH am I thinking?

I am going to work tonight for 4 hours for the first time in 6 months. Mostly just to keep my feet wet. It's not for the piddly money it will bring in, that's for sure.

I told them they could call me for temporary work when they needed to after 6 months, and they called yesterday. I don't know why, but I committed to 4 shifts. Ahhhhhh! Now I am panicking. I don't want to leave my little guy! I am not even sure I remember how to be a dietitian!

Here are a couple of pics after Corbin's bath last night. I took them because we have never put him in this robe & slippers set before, but I think it was the first gift I opened at shower #1, so I just needed to commemorate the occasion. Robes and slippers are pretty impractical for newborns. My little guy hates to be cold after a bath, so it's right from warm bath water to warm towel to warm pjs. With robes, you have to put their little arms through & tie it up, so by the time you figure all of that out, your child is red-faced from screaming. But this time, I treated it like he was going into his pjs... got him all warm and dry first.




His face is red because of windburn from being outside. And it's shiny because I always lube him up with petroleum jelly after a bath because of his eczema. Cute little ensemble, though, eh?

Updates

Haven't been on here in a week or so... sorry! We are busy trying to make our condo "showable" so we can move out of here & get into a single family home. So I have been packing instead of exercising in my downtime. And guess what? I lost 7 pounds somehow! Weird how that works! Anyway, most of the place is cleaned up now.

We must be going through a midlife crisis, because we also decided we needed a new vehicle. We got a minivan, making me one step closer to being a soccer mom. It's great though- even Jon is crazy about it. It gives us so much room & has already came in handy for moving boxes to and fro our storage facility (aka my parent's basement). Here is a pic of me in the new ride.



Also keeping me busy, as if I wasn't busy enough during Corbin's naps, I discovered myspace. So I have a new profile there. I had a great first mother's day. Corbin slept great last night & Jon took over duty when he woke up this morning. Then we went out to lunch with my parents. I got Vera Bradley purses (well, I picked them out) from Jon & Corbin & I got a Pandora bracelet from my parents since it was my first.

When I was cooking dinner tonight, Jon yelled for me to "come look at (my) son!" When I got there, I saw him in Jon's hockey cap.

"I know I'm adorable!"

"Hey, man! I know how to rock the party!"

Boyfriend and Girfriend

Corbin: "Hi Emma! It's great to see you again! I'd forgotten how pretty you are!"


Corbin: "I can't resist. I must touch your head!"


Emma: "Oh Corbin, you're so dreamy! Even with that ridiculous stegasaurus hat on!"


Emma: "Oh yeah, I'll tell you something. I think you'll understand. When I'll say that something...I wanna hold your hand!"
